Communication

General Daily Communication

Here is how to share information between the classroom and home.  It is important that questions be addressed in a timely manner and concerns should be shared promptly so that we may resolve any issues together.

The Best Way to Get a Message to the Teaching Team

Contacting via district email is the quickest way to get us a message.  Please note: Email and voicemail are generally checked before 8:15am and again after 3:30pm.  In an emergency, you should contact the office (908.918.2175) and speak directly to Mrs. Schneider.  She will be able to handle urgent messages.

Email:  sshire@summit.k12.nj.us

Additionally, We will share a HOME/SCHOOL folder for the benefit of the children. I will provide one these to you. This foldershould come back and forth each day. You will use it to order lunch, give notes teaching staff need to see, etc. We will use it to send home information from the school and to return classroom work samples.

How you will know what is going on in Room 104

I send home an email each week (typically Sundays) with a few details about the week that was completed and with a run-down of expected objectives for the coming week.  The Need to Know  will fill you in on key aspects of our plans, as well as any special events that may involve options for pajamas, a stuffed animal "guest", etc.

Information that is school wide will be shared via email blast weekly from our office!
